Welcome to Galway Camera Club online

Galway Camera Club has been running for over 20 years and is a diverse group of individuals interested in taking and viewing photographs. With a broad range of members from Professional to Amateur, we cater to all kinds of photography, from Digital to Film. We have members with interests in Infrared, Pinhole and Lomographic photography, along with more standard fare such as Landscape and Portrait photography.
There are also beginners classes available and new members are always welcome.
We meet on a Thursday night at 8pm in the White Room in Cluain Mhuire college (GMIT), Wellpark Road, situated a short walk from the junction at the Huntsman.

Galway Camera Club 2008 Team Competition

This is a photographic competition for teams of 3 to produce a cohesive panel of 10 mounted photographs on a Theme of their choice.

The photographs should work together as a panel and complement the theme, tell a story etc.

The panels will be presented on the 23rd April 2008 at a special Team Competition Night.

First prize for each member of the winning team will be a photograph of their choice mounted and framed. (Standard sizes up to 16x20)

Normal competition rules apply. This is a competition for mounted prints only. No digital or slide panels.

Members are encouraged to include new camera club members in their team of 3.

Slight change in Programme

Due to book related pressures (ie a Feb 4th deadline), I've asked Michael Corbett to step in and take my place on the 23rd. I simply don't have enough time current to put a show together. Both the newsletter and the program post have been updated to reflect this.

New Season

The new season will commence on the 9th Jan, next Wednesday. The main speaker will be Brendan Lawlor.
The Newsletter has been completed for a few weeks now, but has been delayed by a confirmation date for one of the guests.
